About the Project
AIR RUSTLE is a pavilion designed by YET Architecture for the MEDS (Meeting of Design Students) and constructed within the workshop KIOS&COS during MEDS 2022 Cierzo in Zaragoza, Spain.
The pavilion is a circular loop-path 60cm wide in plan with a radius of 4m and a height of 4m. The structural frame is constructed from 10 wooden modules connected together. White and blue 10×20cm fabric pieces are attached on steel cables to the side of each module.
The fabric tiles are coloured from the corridor side and white towards both outside spaces — when looking at the pavilion, the wind reveals glimpses of coloured tiles from the inner parts.

The Air Rustle is a pavilion that symbolises the path of life that we all face. There is no beginning of the path and no end.
The only thing that connects a person with reality is the Wind and the rustle that wind creates. Anyone will notice the Rustle: hear, feel it with their skin, see the movement of leaves. Watching the pavilion is like observing nature, constantly changing and moving — it's like meditating on a river, fire and sky. By looking at the constantly changing pattern of the pavilion, listening to the rustle, a person enters a meditative state, stopping his inner self and suspending reality.

Like leaves rustling in the wind, the skin of the pavilion is breathing and opening, letting glimpses of colours stand out for a short moment.
Colours of the fabric are in harmony to mix with the sky. Being in the "Air Rustle", thoughts become more exalted and meaningful. In such a meditative state, you go into the depths of yourself and think about sublime ideas. You unite with all people in search of meanings and stopping the moment. There is no place for silly arguments and empty conversations, there is only the rustle and the path that we are going.
The corridor is without beginning or end, meaning that a person can walk there contemplating the ambience without breaks. This is the philosophical essence of a circle or a loop.
